Open House is a drop–in facility open every Tuesday from 10am – 1pm in Willowfield Church Halls.
It is for people in the local community (and those who use our CAP services) to meet in a relaxed, friendly environment where they can access a range of activities (including the gym, tabletop games, free internet access and children’s outdoor play area), receive support, a friendly ear or a cup of tea/coffee.
It aims to combat the serious isolation and loneliness problem prevalent in the community and to link people into interest groups within the church where friendships can be formed and new skills explored. The team of volunteers are there to make people feel welcome, provide them with information on any of our compassion services such as Food Store, Family Support, CAP Job Club or CAP Debt Advice.
There is also the opportunity to take part in mini, monthly courses on topics such as crochet, baking, card–making or photography. Many have been sign–posted to other ministries of the church which have been able to help them.
We also have our Food Store facility open on a Tuesday morning for those who require that additional help.
