Christmas Parcel Items
Quick Links: Food Store
One of the ways we respond to the needs in our community at Christmas is through the Christmas Parcel project.
Through this we give food parcels of normal and seasonal non–perishables to those who would otherwise struggle to meet the basic needs at this time of year. Last year we gave around 80 parcels to families and individuals in our community and we expect the need to grow this year.
To create parcels with a variety of food, we have parcel cards. These cards list a few items for you to buy and bring back to church, and their estimated value, from £4.50 to £10. If you feel you can support this important project, please get cards from the Christmas Parcel team (they’ll be wearing Christmas hats!) or the Welcome desk and bring back the items by Sunday 14 December.
There will also be lists of the parcels in case your family or life group would like to buy a whole parcel (from £13 to £40). As always there will be a shopping trolley at the back of church in which you can place your food items. Please ensure the things that you buy
are of quality that you would eat yourself, are well in date and are not damaged – these small things go further to make people who receive them to feel more valued.
If it’s easier, you can make a cash donation to the Christmas Parcel project – just put cash or a cheque into the offering, in an envelope marked ‘For the Food Store’. If you’re eligible for Gift Aid please write your envelope number or name and address on the envelope.
We will be putting the parcels together in the church halls on Monday 15 December from 7pm so do come and join us!
