St Patrick’s Celebration

There are many myths about Patrick, but what did he really believe?

What made him make Ireland his home? What, if any, legacy has he left us today? Why not come along and join us as we explore together possible answers to these questions at our two special St Patrick’s weekend events.

Join us on Sunday 16th March at 7pm in Willowfield Parish Church for a night of celebration for the whole community as we come together to explore the life and faith of Patrick, Ireland’s Patron Saint.

We will do this through his own writings, in songs and hymns from Ireland, and by the book that shaped his life.  The night will conclude with traditional Irish deserts and refreshments being served in the Micah Centre.

On Monday 17th, Bishop Harold invites you to join him at Down Cathedral for the annual St Patrick’s Day Festival Service followed by lunch in the marquee in the Cathedral grounds. You are also welcome to attend the Holy Communion Service at Saul and to join the pilgrimage from Saul to Down Cathedral.
