Hi everyone my name is Susan McFarland I was born and grew up in Omagh, Co. Tyrone.  I finished school at the age of 18 and didn't know what do to with my life.  I thought I would get any job and then study for something better.  Amazingly I got a job straight away in our local hospital doing clerical work. I soon found paper work wasn't really my cup of tea!!

I kept at it and the following summer I had booked into going to Summer Madness and Streetreach, I didn't know that these would change my life.  During Streetreach I was placed in Willowfield, and we cleaned up two gardens, painting, brushing cleaning, it was great fun.  At the end of the week we were sitting eating and the rector came along to tell us about the year out scheme the church was running.  I was really interested so he gave me some information, then a few weeks later... I was in  Belfast .

To cut along story short I now work as the children's worker at Willowfield, some of the work I'm involved in is running our Friday night Kidz Klub, we have a visiting team who visit over 100 kids weekly, I run a group called rainbows for children who have suffered grief through death or divorce, and visit 3 schools in the area during lunch time.
